Misconceptions About Spiritual Insights

To understand this article, we must first correct a few important basic points at the very beginning. These misunderstandings may not have existed in ancient times, but in the present age they have become widely accepted misconceptions. Around the world, whenever people see, read about, or hear of a psychic reading or spiritual reading, they tend to assume that all such readings are the same. In other words, they believe that all psychic readers and spiritual readings operate in exactly the same way. Because of this misunderstanding, today every seeker tends to ask the same type of question and provides the same kind of information, whereas this is not applicable to every type of reading.

Let us first understand what a psychic reading means and what kinds of psychic readings exist.

Definition of a Psychic Reading

A psychic reading is a session where a practitioner uses heightened intuitive senses—such as clairvoyance (seeing) or clairsentience (feeling)—to interpret energy, provide guidance, and gain insights into a person’s life, including past, present, or future events. These sessions aim to help with decision-making, emotional closure, and personal growth.

Types of Psychic Readings

Common types of psychic readings include:

Tarot Card Readings:
A deck consisting of 78 symbolic cards is used to analyse life situations, relationships, and possible future paths.

Mediumship Readings:
An attempt is made to establish contact with the spiritual world in order to convey messages from deceased loved ones.

Astrology Readings:
The positions of celestial bodies (planets and stars) at the time of birth are analysed to understand personality traits, life phases, and significant timings.

Clairvoyant Readings:
A spiritual practitioner perceives images, scenes, or symbols through inner vision that are directly related to the person’s life.

Aura Readings:
The energy field surrounding the body (the aura) is examined to understand emotional, physical, or spiritual conditions.

Numerology Readings:
Important numbers—such as the date of birth or life path numbers—are used to provide guidance.

Psychometry:
A physical object (such as keys or jewellery) is held to sense and interpret the energy connected with it.

Runes / Crystal Ball Readings:
Divination symbols such as runes or tools like a crystal ball are used to gain spiritual insight and visions.

Each of these readings has its own specific methods and limitations. However, most seekers assume that any reading is either a psychic reading or a mediumship reading, even though they may not know what these terms actually mean. Unfortunately, many readers are either assumed to be astrologers or are provided with the type of information normally given to astrologers.

One reason for this confusion is that across the world many practitioners have incorporated astrology into their reading systems. As a result, numerologists now often interpret numbers through astrological terminology, and card readers have linked cards with particular planets. In reality, this is not correct. Every knowledge has its own identity, principles, and rules. Incorporating another system into it may distort the original knowledge rather than improve it.

It is similar to mixing English words with Arabic, or Arabic with English, while speaking. The listener may understand half the sentence but will struggle to grasp the complete meaning.

For example, astrology does not establish communication with the spiritual world. Numerology does not include the concept of aura reading. Therefore, such systems are generally considered analytical or calculative rather than spiritual.

Only a few knowledge in the world combine calculation, knowledge, intuition, spirituality, and a connection between higher and lower realms. Among these, the foremost is Ilm-al-Jafr, followed by Ilm-al-Ramal (geomancy).

Here, I will speak only about Ilm-al-Raml because my other websites already discuss Ilm-al-Jafr.

Branches of Ilm-al-Ramal

Currently, two branches of Ilm-al-Raml exist in the world:

  1. The ancient and authentic system, often referred to as Eastern geomancy.
  2. Western geomancy, which is a more limited system.

As I mentioned in earlier articles, Ilm-al-Raml is a respected and comprehensive knowledge. Its special characteristic is that it includes elements of divination, mediumship, clairvoyance, psychometry, aura reading, spiritual treatment, and remedies—all within one system.

It should be remembered that wherever a knowledge involves divination, mediumship is also implicitly connected to it, because such processes relate to the spiritual world.

Ilm-al-Raml is connected with sand, and thoughtful people understand that celestial sciences relate to higher realms, while earthly sciences relate to the lower realm. Therefore, when geomantic figures are formed in the sand, it is believed that both higher and lower entities establish a connection with the geomancer. Through spiritual and intuitive forces, judgments and interpretations are then derived.

In Eastern geomancy, no other knowledge is mixed with it. It has its own self-contained mechanisms, which remain largely secret and can only be fully understood by an experienced geomancer.

Questions and Misconceptions

In spiritual readings around the world, it has become common to ask questions in a standardised way—usually modelled after astrological consultations. Because of this, many interpretations and answers turn out to be incorrect. Over time, many traditional knowledge lost their original form because astrological associations were added to them.

As a result, these sciences are no longer exactly what they once were. The same has happened with other reading systems, and predictions have increasingly become inaccurate.

There are two main reasons for this:

  1. In an attempt to increase the accuracy of predictions, different systems were mixed together, causing the original rules and principles of each knowledge to be lost.
  2. Seekers were never properly educated about how and what questions should be asked within a specific knowledge.

Another major mistake was treating these sciences as knowledge of the unseen rather than systems of study and analysis. Since ancient times people have also made the foolish mistake of assuming that anyone knowledgeable in these fields must be a specially chosen servant of God.

In reality, spiritual sciences are not written down in full, cannot be fully taught in the conventional sense, and do not automatically produce spirituality. True spirituality is achieved through the worship of God and remembrance of Him.

Therefore, the systems we see today in calculative forms are essentially interpretive sciences. Science and systematic reasoning operate behind them. That is why each knowledge has its own rules and methods, and each practitioner masters their own approach.

However, seekers must understand what kind of question should be asked and where.

For example, if you ask an astrologer why you cannot get a job without providing your name, date of birth, or time of birth, the astrologer can only respond based on the time of the question. Such an answer cannot be considered definitive.

Similarly, if you ask a card reader why your marriage is delayed without allowing them to use their cards, they may close their eyes for a moment and claim that energies indicate magic or some past action as the cause. But such a response would merely be an energetic impression—an intuitive guess. If they had used their cards properly through shuffling and interpretation, the answer might have been entirely different.

It should be clearly understood that knowledge of the unseen belongs only to God Almighty, except for what He chooses to grant.

Our teachers and scholars have always taught us the same.

Knowledge such as astrology, Jafr, numerology, and geomancy have reached their present forms through research. They are legitimate fields of study, but they remain interpretive sciences. Declaring them to be knowledge of the unseen is a serious mistake and a source of misguidance.

Seekers must realise that the person answering their question does not possess knowledge of the unseen. Instead, the practitioner applies a particular knowledge with its own scientific framework and principles. According to those rules, the practitioner may require specific details from the seeker, and only after receiving the required information can a meaningful answer be given.

Psychic Readings and Spirituality

There are many psychic readers who remain in contact with me regularly. Some of them do not require any formal system of knowledge because their spiritual abilities allow them to sense a person’s condition simply by observing them.

Similarly, many spiritual seekers have contacted me later in life for spiritual development, and I have guided them through initial lessons.

The point is that any person—whether an ordinary individual or a psychic reader—can cultivate spirituality within themselves. What is required is passion and dedication.

For a reader, spiritual development is extremely important. However, someone who already possesses strong spiritual abilities may not need a formal system of knowledge. There are also readers who possess spiritual energy but do not know how to use it properly. When a person has such abilities but cannot control or direct them, it can become a painful experience.

The first step is to understand spiritual forces and metaphysical impulses. After that, through practice, one must learn to master them. Some people are born with spiritual sensitivity, but they still need to learn how to manage and develop it. If they fail to do so, they may spend their entire lives trapped in confusion.

Misguidance of the Seeker

Like many others who perform readings or prepare charts, I have often seen individuals who are not genuinely seeking guidance. They ask questions only to test the practitioner’s knowledge. They ask whether everything can be revealed without seeing any charts or tools.

Their intention is often to criticise the answers later, discourage the practitioner, and label them as fraudulent.

When dealing with such people, my response is not necessary to mention here. But if you are a reader, you should first explain your knowledge and its principles to the seeker. Clarify that it is a system based on rules and that the answer may or may not align with their expectations.

Knowledge is not meant for entertainment or mockery. Genuine seekers approach spiritual readers only when they are truly troubled.

An Example

Once a man asked me when he would get a job. I replied that he might secure a good job within the next year. He then said that he was actually a businessman and had no need for a job. He admitted that he had asked the question merely to test me.

I replied that in this obsession with testing, he had wasted a valuable question. Knowledge responds according to the sincerity of the seeker. My answer was not wrong; his intention was.

Knowledge reveals what emerges from the present spiritual energies and elements. Sometimes intuition perceives things beyond formal rules.

Later, it turned out that his business failed and he was forced to search for employment.

Both the seeker and the practitioner should understand that three parties exist behind every question: the practitioner, the seeker, and the knowledge itself. The knowledge reveals what it perceives. If the reader misunderstands it, that is the reader’s mistake. If the seeker refuses to accept it, that is their lack of wisdom.

I wish that readers everywhere—whatever authentic knowledge they practise, provided it does not involve harm—should be respected. Seekers should also remain truthful with them.

Before asking questions, seekers should first ask the practitioner what knowledge they use, what principles it follows, and what information is required. Then they should clearly explain their situation and ask their question sincerely.

I have written a great deal in very few words. I know many people will read this article, but only a few will truly understand it. Yet it is those few people whom I intended to reach.
